Carr Valley Cheese Company is over one-hundred years old. Nestled amongst the rolling hills and lush pastures of central Wisconsin, they remain one of Wisconsin's traditional cheese plants, famous for making cheese the old-fashioned way!
Carr Valley is owned and operated by the Cook family and began their operation in 1902. They produce high-quality, artisanal cheese made by hand--the old fashioned way. Using cow, sheep and goat milk from local farmers, Carr Valley now produces more than 50 original varieties of cheese.
They have won numerous awards and their Certified Master Cheesemaker, Sid Cook, has won more top national and international awards than any other cheesemaker in North America.
“My family has been making cheese for over 100 years. Growing up, when people would ask my dad if I was making cheese, he would say, ‘yeah, he just doesn’t know any better.’ I still get a kick out of that because now I’ve been making cheese for over 50 years.”
