Green bell peppers offer a wonderful combination of tang, sweetness and crunch. All bell peppers start off green and can turn red, orange, or yellow as they ripen. Ripening also makes them sweeter. Bell peppers don't contain capsaicin, the compound that gives heat to the spicy varieties.
Great for adding interest to salads, sautés, or pizzas. Try them baked, and stuffed with rice and vegetables.
Store unwashed bell peppers in a ventilated bag in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh for about a week.
