This Italian variety of kale has a slightly sweeter, more delicate taste and is extraordinarily nutritious. The dark, blue-green leaves have an “embossed texture” that make it easy to use! Perfect for raw kale salads, braised in broth, sautéed, or simply steamed.
Avoid washing kale until it is time for use. To make cutting easier, hold the kale upside down and pull leaves from the thick stems. The stems, to avoid waste, can be used in juices or smoothies as well as in soups.
To store kale, wrap it in paper towel and place it in a plastic bag. Place kale in your crisper drawer and refrigerate until it is ready for use!
