Watermelon radishes are an heirloom variety of daikon radishes. Green on the outside and pink on the inside, the beautiful watermelon radish is milder and sweeter than regular radishes and a bit larger too.
Watermelon radishes add great color to a salad or a vegetable tray! They can also be braised or mashed, but will lose their color once cooked. Watermelon radishes can also be pickled.
To store radishes, cut off the greens and refrigerate them wrapped loosely in plastic.
