Crisp romaine lettuce is a highly nutritious leafy green with a deep taste. Give sandwiches extra crunch by adding romaine or get creative and use the leaves to create “lettuce wraps”. With it’s high water content, romaine is also great for juicing!
To prepare, remove outer leaves and slice off the tips of the lettuce. Chop the remaining portions into your desired size. Remove the bottom stem, rinse, and pat dry.
If not eating immediately, store lettuce in a dry paper towel in an airtight container or plastic bag in the fridge. You could also line a crisper drawer with dish towels and store lettuce there to help maintain its freshness.
