Small and mighty, Romas are known for being the tomato of choice for making tomato sauces. Their thick, meaty walls and not-too-juicy flesh make them a great cooking tomato but they also taste great sliced raw in a salad. Deeply red in color and sweet in flavor, they’ll add a wonderful burst of tomato flavor to anything you put them on.
Eaten raw, roasted, fried, or broiled, tomatoes pair well with simple flavors, like olive oil and salt, herbs and fresh like mozzarella and ricotta.
Roma tomatoes are especially suited for soups or sauces. After processing, Romas freeze exceptionally well. A great source of vitamin A and C.
Roma Tomatoes should be stored on the countertop at room temperature. Refrigeration causes them to lose flavor and develop a mealy texture.
